Martin County Sheriff John Kirk

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Cecil Ray Diamond

Cecil Ray Diamond, 44, of Williamson, West Virginia, was arrested Monday in Inez on a fugitive-from-another-state warrant. Sheriff Kirk served the warrant.

Diamond was also arrested Dec. 30 at Horn’s Fuel Stop on Route 645, Tomahawk, on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), and fugitive-from-justice from another state-warrant required.

Sheriff Kirk responded to a call about a vehicle that crashed into the concrete barrier protecting the gas pumps at Horn’s BP just before 8 p.m. According to Kirk, off-duty volunteer deputy John Horn was seated in the parking lot when he saw the vehicle strike what he initially believed was a gas pump. When the sheriff arrived, he found the vehicle had hit the concrete barrier surrounding the pump.

Kirk said Diamond had three Gabapentin pills inside a plastic container in his hoodie pocket and a plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance in his right pant pocket.

Deputy Wall assisted the sheriff at the scene.

John C. Adkins

John C. Adkins, 51, of Belfry, was arrested Dec. 30 at Horn’s Fuel Stop on Route 645, Tomahawk, on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), and public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Sheriff Kirk said Adkins, a passenger in the car with Cecil Ray Diamond when it crashed at Horn’s BP, was passed out in the back seat. He had a baggie containing a white, crystal-like substance in his wallet, along with a larger baggie containing a similar substance on the floorboard at his feet, according to Kirk.

David L. Williamson

David L. Williamson, 64, of Williamson, West Virginia, was arrested Dec. 30 at Horn’s Fuel Stop on Route 645, Tomahawk, on a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine).

Sheriff Kirk said Williamson was a passenger in the car with Cecil Ray Diamond when it crashed at Horn’s BP. According to the police report, Williamson had a crystal-like substance folded inside a receipt in his possession.

Charlotte Marie Godines

Charlotte Marie Godines, 39, of Belfry, was arrested Dec. 30 at Horn’s Fuel Stop on Route 645, Tomahawk, on charges of public intoxication-controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).

Godines allegedly had two plastic baggies containing a powder-like substance in her purse, along with seven Gabapentin pills inside a makeup container.

Sheriff Kirk wrote in his report that Godines “had very slurred speech” and “admitted she had done fentanyl earlier.”

Linda Kay Maynard

Linda Kay Maynard, 45, of Pilgrim, was arrested Dec. 30 on Willis Dials Road in Pilgrim on a warrant for nonpayment of court costs, fees or fines. Deputy Jameson Wall made the arrest at 10:34 p.m.
