INEZ — Martin County Schools Superintendent Larry James is interested in the school district receiving the 100-acre tract of land adjacent to the high school and owned by the Martin County Economic Development Authority.
Judge/Executive Colby Kirk announced in the EDA board meeting March 16 that James approached the subject with him.
“The superintendent invited me to sit down and meet with him in his office,” Kirk said. “He expressed an interest in acquiring the lands adjacent to the high school for the purpose of finishing the campus and developing athletic facilities.”
Kirk stated the land holds no industrial development value as far as the EDA board is concerned.
