Martin County arrest report

CITIZEN STAFF REPORT

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Teresa Rena Marcum

Teresa Rena Marcum, 47, of Rockcastle Creek Road, Louisa, was arrested Dec. 27 on Little Laurel Road on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possession.

Sheriff John Kirk said he was dispatched to a residence on Little Laurel Road after a report that Marcum was being threatened. During the encounter, Kirk asked whether Marcum had anything on her, and she then produced a metal pipe used for drugs and a marijuana dab.

Clayton Jude

Clayton Jude, 52, of Pilgrim, was arrested around 2:24 p.m. Dec. 26 on Emily Creek Road in Pilgrim on a charge of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Constable Bradford Preece responded to a report about a male having difficulty walking and who appeared to be swinging at “invisible people.” The officer noted that Jude had slurred speech and was “severely intoxicated.” Jude allegedly stated that he had taken suboxone and gabapentin.

Michael Wayne Farley

Michael Wayne Farley, 47, of Inez, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. Dec. 23 on East Main Street in Inez on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place (first and second offense) and an outstanding bench warrant.

Deputy Jameson Wall said he witnessed Farley stumble and almost fall while walking down East Main Street.

“I could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person,” Wall reported. “He was attempting to pull the door open of [Tobacco Plus] that was locked.”

Jasmine Broderick

Jasmine Broderick, 27, of Louisville, was arrested around 2:46 p.m. Dec. 22 at White Oak Hill (Addiction Recovery Care) in Inez on charges of disorderly conduct second degree and menacing.

Sheriff Kirk responded to a call to dispatch reporting a “disorderly female.” He noted that upon his arrival, Broderick started screaming and cursing.

“As I attempted to calm her, she became more aggressive,” Kirk said. “[She] acted in an aggressive manner towards the staff and me. She was making threats to harm others. She was also making racist remarks toward me.”

Paul Conn

Paul Conn, 61, of Galloway, Ohio, was arrested Dec. 22 in Warfield on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance and possession of marijuana.

Deputy Wall, Sheriff Kirk, and Deputy Steven Putman encountered Conn at a safety checkpoint and immediately observed a green, leafy substance in his lap and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search of the car turned up a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and a partially smoked joint in the front seat area, Deputy Wall noted.

Conn began but did not complete field sobriety testing, the report states, telling officers, “You got me. Take me to jail.”
