VIRGIE — The OnPoint Ballers continue to dominate the AAU circuit this summer.

The boys played in the Eastern Elite basketball tournament in Virgie.

Pool play began July 11, and OPB defeated the Disciples and Pike County Elite to go 2-0 and capture the top seed for bracket play.

The following day, the Ballers won over East Kentucky Elite in the semi-finals and the Disciples in the finals to capture another tournament championship after winning in Gatlingburg the week before.

Kevin Dials, a longtime coach in Warfield, coaches the team. He’s known for having high-paced, score-in-transition teams. His son, Bryson Dials, is considered by many the top player in the coalfields in his class.

His teammates aren’t far behind. They’re a close-knit group and know how to play to each other’s strengths.

The team consists of Isaiah Hughes, Bryson Dials, Aiden Copeland, Ashton Evans, Andrew Collins, Colton Ratliff and Wesley Buck. Collins and Copeland were unable to attend this week’s tournament.
