INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Lonnie Ray Jude, 49, of Pilgrim, was arrested Dec. 22 on North Wolf Creek Road in Pilgrim on a charge of assault, fourth degree (domestic violence), minor injury. According to the arrest report, Sheriff Kirk responded to a call about an altercation at a residence on North Wolf Creek Road in Pilgrim. Upon arrival, Luster Jude told the sheriff that his stepson, Lonnie Jude, struck him three times in the head.
Sheriff Kirk noted that Luster Jude had a knot above his right eye and fresh blood on his head.
Lonnie Ray Jude reportedly admitted that an argument occurred but denied striking Luster Jude.

Jerry T. Spence, 48, of Kermit, West Virginia, was arrested Dec. 18 in Inez on two warrants from Martin Circuit Court charging him with two counts of fleeing or evading police first degree (motor vehicle), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drug/etc., all-terrain vehicle violations and reckless driving. Deputy Billy Wells served the warrant at 12:27 p.m.

Roy K. Goble, 50, of Pilgrim, was arrested Dec. 18 on Riverfront Road in Lovely on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Jameson Wall served the warrant at 8:20 p.m.

Austin Harless, 31, of Debord, was arrested Dec. 17 on Court Street in Inez on a bench warrant from Floyd County. Deputy Ronald L. Patrick II served the warrant at 1:15 p.m.

Christopher D. Hannah, of Lovely, was arrested Dec. 17 at the Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant from Lawrence District Court for a traffic charge. Sheriff Kirk served the warrant at 12:43 p.m.

Phillip D. Butcher, 73, of Inez, was arrested Dec. 16 on Thickety Fork in Inez on a charge of second-degree cruelty to animals.
Martin County Sheriff John Kirk sent deputies to Butcher’s residence on Thickety Fork to investigate a report of deceased dogs tied up behind the house. Butcher advised law enforcement that three dogs were deceased behind the house and pointed to where the dogs were. He allegedly stated the dogs belonged to his ex-girlfriend, who left them there.
According to the police report, Butcher said he tried to call his ex-girlfriend to pick up the dogs, but had never contacted officials. He allegedly said he “stopped fooling with them and stopped feeding them a while ago.”
After police took Butcher into custody, he stated that he was told about 4-5 days earlier that the dogs were dead behind his house and that they had been shot, police said. He then allegedly said he was told they had been deceased for about two weeks.

Gregory Alan Lilly, 55, was arrested Dec. 16 at Quail Hollow in Inez on a warrant issued by Boyd District Court. Sheriff Kirk served the warrant at 5:17 p.m.

Stanley David Land, 42, of Lexington, was arrested Dec. 16 at Adkins Faststop on Main Street on a warrant for contempt of court/ libel/ slander/ resistance to order.
Deputies responded to a call to White Oak Hill (Addiction Recovery Care) in Inez about a male leaving the facility in violation of a Fayette County court order. Officers located Land at the gas station/convenience store and took him into custody.
