LEXINGTON — Martin County tallied another win Sunday night in the Republic Bank–Sayre School Lankster Classic. Coach Jason “JJ” James’ Cardinals defeated host Sayre 69-41 on day 2 of the winter break tournament. They advance to a Monday game against Oldham.
Braxton Keathley fired in 34 points on 57% shooting and 10 rebounds to complete a double-double. He dished out five assists and three steals for good measure.
Brayden Marcum hit two shots from deep and finished with 10 points, three assists and two steals on 4-of-8 shooting from the field.
Sharpshooter Eli Mills tickled the twine three times from long range for nine points. He collected a rebound, a steal and an assist.
Devan Maynard kept Sayre off the board with 13 rebounds. Maynard added three points, two assists and two steals to the scorebook.

Martin County point guard Bryson Dials crept into the paint and snatched 10 rebounds. He hit for seven points, dished out five assists and swiped three steals.
Senior Alan Moore cleaned the glass with 10 boards. The big guy in the middle tacked on four points and an assist.

The young guns contributed off the bench for the Cards. Chase Hinkle checked in to wrangle down seven boards. He picked off a pass for a steal and delivered an assist.
Luke Preece scored a bucket and pulled down a rebound. Bentlee Bowman brought down two rebounds to round out the stat sheet.
