LEXINGTON — Braxton Keathley set a new Martin County High School record Saturday with 12 made 3-pointers. He poured in 42 points in the Cardinals’ dominant 92-64 win over Kentucky Country Day in game 1 of the Republic Bank Coach Lankster Classic at Sayre.
Keathley was nearly automatic from deep, finishing 12-of-14 from behind the arc. He also added four rebounds, three assists and five steals in a complete all-around performance.
Coach Jason “JJ” James’ squad advances to the semifinals, where the Cardinals will face Sayre at 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
It was a big night across the board for Martin County.
Bryson Dials recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Alan Moore posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Devan Maynard controlled the glass with 18 rebounds to go with five points, six assists and five steals. Eli Mills chipped in double-digit scoring with 13 points.
Brayden Marcum added five points, eight steals and three assists. Chase Hinkle finished with two points.
