Ernest Ray Richardson
1959—2025

Ernest Ray Richardson, 66, of Crum, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 7, 2025, at Three Rivers Hospital in Louisa, Kentucky.

Born Nov. 27, 1959, in Louisa, he was the son of the late Ernest Clyde and Marie (Maynard) Richardson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Marcum and Julie Richardson.

Ernest was a veteran of the United States Army. After serving our country he earned a master’s degree from Marshall University. He was a teacher, administrator, coach and member of the Wayne County Board of Education. He was a member of the Silver Creek Church in Crum.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Carla (Prince) Richardson; his son, Dylan Ray Richardson; two brothers, Clyde (Melissa) Richardson and William Richardson; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at the Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, Kentucky, with Earl Luke Prince officiating. Burial followed at the Prince Family Cemetery in Prichard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tolsia High School, c/o Girls Basketball, #1 Rebel Drive, Fort Gay, WV 25514.
