INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Robert Michael Bowens, 56, of Boons Camp, was arrested Monday in Inez on a Johnson County charge of flagrant nonsupport. Deputy Jameson Wall served the warrant.

John Henry Jude, 56, of Debord, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. Monday at Fields Trailer Court in Tomahawk on two Martin County bench warrants. Deputy Wall served the warrants.

Patricia Lynn Hill, 54, and Trista Lachelle McCoy, 36, both of Lovely, were arrested at 10:39 p.m. Sunday in the McDonald’s parking lot in Inez.
Hill’s charges include operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substance and having no operator’s license.

McCoy’s charges include public intoxication of controlled substance and an outstanding Lawrence County bench warrant.
Sheriff Kirk responded to the scene after a caller reported the two females passed out inside a vehicle at the McDonald’s drive-thru. Kirk said Hill was unconscious under the steering wheel with the engine still running when he arrived. According to the police report, Hill failed a sobriety test.
McCoy, the passenger, reportedly admitted that she had taken Gabapentin earlier.

Brett Henry Waller, 61, of Lovely, was arrested at 3:30 Sunday at the Kermit Bridge in Warfield on charges of strangulation, second degree (domestic violence-related) and fleeing or evading police, second degree (on foot).
The sheriff’s office reports that a deputy was patrolling the Lovely area and noticed Waller, who was wanted on an active arrest warrant for strangulation, walking along Riverfront Road. When the deputy approached him, Waller allegedly said he was not going to jail, then bolted on foot across the Kermit Bridge into West Virginia. He then ran down the riverbank next to the bridge and jumped into the Tug Fork River, police said.
Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded after the deputy called for assistance.
Firefighters entered the water and pulled Waller to safety.
Patriot Ambulance transported Waller to ARH Paul B. Hall in Paintsville for evaluation. After hospital staff cleared him, officials booked him into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
The police report notes that fire departments from Warfield, Kermit and Inez, Martin County REACT personnel, Martin County Constable Bradford Preece, the West Virginia State Police, and Patriot Ambulance responded to the scene.

Nila Staton, 36, of Tomahawk, was arrested just after 9 p.m. Saturday in the Family Foods parking lot in Tomahawk. Her charges include operating a motor vehicle under the influence and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.
Sheriff Kirk said Staton crossed the center line multiple times within a one-mile distance on the roadway. According to the police report, she failed a sobriety test and admitted to using drugs earlier.

John L. Kirk Jr., 46, of Inez, was arrested just after 7 p.m. Dec. 5 on Little Rockcastle Road in Inez on a charge of alcohol intoxication in a public place (first and second offense).
Sheriff Kirk responded shortly after 7 p.m. to a report that Kirk Jr. was outside his residence arguing with neighbors and yelling profanities.
Kirk Jr. left the scene before the sheriff arrived but later returned and appeared intoxicated outside the residence.
According to the police report, Kirk Jr. smelled strongly of alcohol and had a half-full bottle of liquor in a porch swing beside him. Sheriff Kirk administered a field sobriety test, which the suspect failed.

Melinda M. Mullins, 34, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Dec. 4 on Court Street in Inez on two bench warrants. Deputy R. Patrick served the warrants.

Barbara J. Gordon, 45, of Debord, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a bench warrant. Deputy Jameson Wall served the warrant.

Jonathan Sherman, 37, of Tomahawk, was arrested at 10:55 a.m. Dec. 2 on Court Street in Inez on a warrant for theft of services. Deputy Dennis Hall served the warrant.
