INEZ — The McDonald’s drive-thru in Inez briefly doubled as the scene of a police investigation Sunday night when the sheriff found two women passed out inside a vehicle with the engine running.
Martin County Sheriff John Kirk said he pulled in around 10:39 p.m. and spotted Patricia Lynn Hill, 54, of Lovely, slumped behind the wheel with the engine still on.
After a sobriety test, the sheriff arrested Hill on charges of driving under the influence of substance and not having an operator’s license.
The passenger, Trista Lachelle McCoy, 36, of Lovely, reportedly admitted to taking Gabapentin earlier. The sheriff took her into custody on a public intoxication charge and an outstanding Lawrence County bench warrant.
