Mingo County arrests week of Nov. 16

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Law enforcement in Mingo County charged several individuals the week of Nov. 16.

Chuck Berry, 48, of Williamson, was charged with driving on a revoked license (third offense), no insurance and not wearing a seat belt. He was arrested by the West Virginia State Police (WVSP).

Janet Renae Berry

Janet Renae Berry, 50, of Gilbert, was charged with improper registration, no insurance, fraudulent MVI, driving while license suspended, possession with intent to deliver schedule V, schedule II, schedule IV and schedule III.

Berry also had outstanding warrants from Mingo County issued for false report of an emergency and misuse of 911. She was arrested by the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) with assistance from the Gilbert Police Department.

Phillip Workman, Logan, was charged with petit larceny. He allegedly stole a 9mm handgun from a residence at Red Jacket. He was arrested by the MCSD.

Homer Spry

Homer Spry, 48, of Dingess, was charged with malicious wounding after an incident involving a baseball bat at a residence in Dingess. He was arrested by the MCSD.

Lawrence Eugene Stevenson, 35, Red Jacket, was charged with selling meth, a Schedule II drug. The U.S. 119 Drug Task Force arrested him.

Jonathan Walker, 21, of Justice, was charged Nov. 17 with breaking and entering. Walker allegedly broke into a Ford F150 pickup truck and stole a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun belonging to Scott Plemmens. He was arrested by the Gilbert Police Department.

Aaron Ray Brown

Aaron Ray Brown, 33, was arrested Nov. 17 on a bond violation.

Bruce Lee Dillon

Bruce Lee Dillon, 44, of Big Splint Hollow, Nolan, was charged Nov. 18 with receiving and transferring stolen property, nine counts of possession of controlled substance-9, obstructing an officer, fleeing on foot and circuit court capias. He was arrested by the MCSD with assistance from the WVSP.

Dillon allegedly sold two firearms that had been stolen from the residence of Hobart Fugett of Borderland.

Several other arrests were made by law enforcement officers in Mingo County this past week.

Brittany Dawn Lovejoy

Brittany Dawn Lovejoy, 33, was arrested Nov. 18 for circuit court capias-1.

Shawn Lee Shepherd

Shawn Lee Shepherd, 46, was arrested Nov. 18 for circuit court capias-1.

Bobby Sammons

Bobby Sammons, 35, was arrested Nov. 19 for capias-1.

Edward Arthur

Edward Arthur, 44, was arrested Nov. 19 for circuit court capias-1.

Cornelius Davis Jr.

Cornelius Davis Jr., 47, was arrested Nov. 19 for child pornography minors in sex-1.

Terry Lee Mullins

Terry Lee Mullins, 40, of Delbarton, was charged Nov. 20 with domestic assault, brandishing a weapon and assault on a police officer. He was arrested by the MCSD.

Debra Maxine Staton

Debra Maxine Staton, 45, Williamson, was arrested Nov. 20 for stealing phone cable. She is charged with grand larceny, transporting stolen property, destruction of property and possession of a controlled substance (meth). She was arrested by the Williamson Police Department.

Brandon Tester

Brandon Tester, 41, was arrested Nov. 22 for no registration light, stop sign violation, driving suspended for non-DUI, third and expired registration.
