INEZ — Basketball fans are expected to pack the gym Nov. 20 for Cardinal Madness at Martin County High School. The preseason event will showcase the Cardinals and Lady Cards.
The evening-long slate will feature elementary, middle school and high school teams, along with a dunk contest, 3-point contest and a pulled-pork dinner fundraiser benefiting the high school girls and boys basketball programs.
Action is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. with three games between Eden and Inez elementary schools. The C-teams will open the night at 4:30 p.m., followed by the B-teams at 5:10 p.m. and the A-teams at 6 p.m.
Martin County Middle School then takes the floor against Johnson Central. The B-teams are scheduled to play at 6:45 p.m., with the A-teams tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
Fans will get their first look at the 2025-26 Martin County High School squads when the Lady Cardinals take the floor at 8:30 p.m.
The Cardinals boys team will follow at 9:15 p.m.
The dunk contest and 3-point contest will give players a chance to show off their skills and energize the crowd ahead of the upcoming season.
Pulled-pork dinner tickets are being pre-sold for $10 with proceeds supporting the high school girls and boys basketball teams. Dinner tickets are the only tickets being sold in advance of the event. Contact a basketball player to purchase dinner tickets.
General admission is $5 at the door.
