INEZ — It is time to sock it to blood shortages. To do that, donors must step up.

Donors can put their feet up and donate blood Nov. 25 in Inez. The Kentucky Blood Center will conduct a drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Collier Center gym.

All donors will receive a two-pack of socks, while supplies last, as a thank-you for boosting the blood supply.

Whole blood donations take less than an hour from registration to refreshment, and the blood collection process only takes 8-12 minutes.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo ID and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, available at kybloodcenter.org.
