Owen Hinkle Sr., age 75, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at the CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Born in Mudlick, he was the son of the late Vee and Betty Hinkle.
Owen was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. To know him was to love him. He was a hardworking man who dedicated 40 years to working in the mines. After retirement, he stayed busy using his skills doing numerous carpentry jobs.
Owen is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Hinkle; his son, Owen Hinkle Jr. and daughter-in-law Stella of Kermit; grandchildren Brandon (Heather) Stacy, Braxton (Hannah) Hinkle and Jaelin Hinkle; great-grandchildren, Lawson Stacy, Knox Stacy, Harlyn Hinkle, Axel Hinkle, Rayah Salmons, Rilen Sammons and Rennix Salmons. He is also survived by siblings Beatrice Christenson, Mark Hinkle and Marie Alley.
In addition to his parents, Owen is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Madelina “Tint” Stacy; his siblings, Robert Hinkle, John C. Hinkle Jr., Eula Mae Farley, Jess Hinkle, Ike Hinkle, Hardin Hinkle and Roger Hinkle; and two infant siblings.
Owen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at the Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield, Kentucky, with Ken Allen and Freddie Messer officiating. Burial will follow at the Hinkle Family Cemetery in Mudlick. Friends may visit at the chapel Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
