John David Clark
1976—2025
John David Clark, 49, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for nearly a year, died peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, in Lexington.
He was born Jan. 23, 1976, in South Williamson to the late Judith Lorraine Brown Clark and James Thornton Clark.
John earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Berea College and worked most recently in production at TMMK.
He lived in Georgetown with his life partner, Melinda, and could be described as an encyclopedia of sports. He loved all sports, especially watching their son, Brayden, play lacrosse for Scott County High School and online this past year while away at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin.
John was a loyal fan of Boston team sports, to include the Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox. He followed the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds and never missed a minute of Virginia Tech football, from pregame to finale.
John collected baseball cards, was an avid reader, loved animals and always had Bruce Springsteen radio tuned in on his car. He was well-read and stayed in touch with the evolving world around him.
John loved the Northeast, especially Boston, and always aspired to visit Ireland.
He will be lovingly remembered by his life partner, Melinda Carter; his son, Brayden Carter; his sister, Lisa Ann Clark and her golden doodle, Charlie, of Lexington; his brother, James “Bowie” (Delia) Clark of Inez; his niece, Abbie Clark of Inez; his aunt, Sara (Howard) Hall of Winchester; his uncles, David (Gerrie) Clark of Pikeville and Chester Brown of Catlettsburg; numerous cousins; and special friends, John Brown, Brent Reichenbach and Trizdon Reynolds.
No services are planned at this time. Friends and family are encouraged to share their memories and condolences on John’s tribute wall on Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home.
