LYNCHBURG, Va. — Former Martin County High School basketball standouts Parker Watts and Peyton Davis made the most of a national spotlight Monday night. The two suited up for Kentucky Christian University in an ESPN+ matchup against Division I team Liberty.
Watts finished with 13 points to pace his night, knocking down two 3-pointers and shooting 45.5% from the floor. He added three rebounds, one on the offensive glass and two on defense. He also recorded a steal.
Davis dialed in from long range with a 3-pointer, contributing to KCU’s perimeter attack against the Flames.
Both Davis and Watts graduated from Martin County in 2025 before moving up to the college game. Now teammates at KCU, the pair continue to represent their eastern Kentucky community on a bigger stage.
Liberty made the field of 64 in the NCAA tournament last season.
