‘Paint Martin County Blue’ for Diabetes Awareness

BY DOROTHY DILLON

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and the Martin County Health Department invites everyone to join in raising awareness by participating in “Paint Martin County Blue” on Nov. 14 in recognition of World Diabetes Day.

Businesses, schools and organizations across Martin County are encouraged to:

Wear blue, light up buildings or storefronts in blue, decorate offices, windows or displays to help spread awareness about diabetes prevention and management.

Your participation helps start important conversations about healthy living and shows that Martin County stands together in the fight against diabetes.

Mini well checks will also be available at the Martin County Government Center on Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by to get your blood pressure, A1C and other basic health screenings.

Share your photos on social media by tagging @MartinCountyHealthDept and using #PaintMartinCountyBlue and #DiabetesAwarenessMonth.

The health department will feature photos from local participants throughout the week.
