INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Brian Howell, 46, of Inez, was arrested Oct. 23 on Yellow Creek Road in Martin County for possession of a controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine).
Sheriff John Kirk and deputies were conducting a knock-and-talk on a separate case when the homeowner granted permission to search the property and outbuildings. Officers reported finding a baggie containing a crystal-rock-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Howell reportedly told deputies he had been staying in the outbuilding because he had nowhere else to go and admitted the substance was his “bag of dope.”

Kathy Endicott Fletcher, 51, of Warfield, was arrested Oct. 25 at Dempsey Housing in Warfield on a bench warrant for court. Deputy Putman served the warrant.

Sabrina Ann Dotson, 45, of Lenore, West Virginia, was arrested Oct. 22 on Blacklog Road in Inez for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to produce an insurance card.
Deputy J.C. Kirk responded to a call about a woman unresponsive in a vehicle. When he arrived, fire department personnel told him she had not responded to their attempts to wake her.
Deputy Kirk reported that after he knocked hard on the window, Dotson woke up. The officer observed open containers of alcohol inside the car and noted an odor of alcohol on Dotson’s breath. She allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol after work.

Michael Dalton, 26, of Inez, was arrested Oct. 22 on Calf Creek in Inez on a bench warrant for court. Putman served the warrant.

Valerie Dillon, 53, of Warfield, was arrested Oct. 22 on Riverfront Road in Lovely on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/security, display of illegal/altered registration plate and possession of marijuana.
Sheriff John Kirk observed a white 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling south on Route 292 in Lovely. He followed the vehicle for about a mile and reported that it crossed the centerline several times. Dillon allegedly admitted she had taken a registration plate from her father’s other car and placed it on the Trailblazer. Sheriff Kirk noted that Dillon was unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech.

Kandy L. Wagner, 42, of Baltimore, was arrested Oct. 21 at the Sheriff’s Office on an indictment warrant. Deputy Jameson Wall notes that Wagner turned herself in.
Other agencies

Michael Carter, 50, of Inez, was arrested Oct. 27 on a bench warrant. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office served the warrant.

Michael Copley, 45, of Warfield, was arrested Oct. 25 on a bench warrant for failure to appear. Pridemore of the Paintsville Police Department served the warrant.

Larry Horn, 57, of Inez, was arrested Oct. 23 on a bench warrant. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office served the warrant.
