Jerry Jerome Moore
1942—2025

Jerry Jerome Moore, 83, of Lovely, passed away peacefully Oct. 14, 2025, at Community Hospice in Ashland.

Born Sept. 17, 1942, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Herbert and Vina (Maynard) Moore.

Jerry was a graduate from Warfield High School where he excelled at basketball and academics. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country proudly in the Vietnam War.

Jerry worked as a coal miner and retired from Peter Cave Coal Company. Later in life, he operated a successful barber shop business.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his eight siblings, Inez (Vernice) Scarbo, Herbert (Wilma Jean) Moore Jr., Rebecca (Robert) Moore, Louise (Johnny) Hensley, Elias (Bessie) Moore, Raymond (Sue) Moore, Donald (Ginger) Moore and Eugene Moore.

Survivors include his beloved daughter Amanda (Erik) Hall Gunn of Louisa; three grandsons, Jayden Spence, Daylen Mills and Bailey Duke; brother Leslie (Carolyn) Moore of Leesburg, Florida; and many wonderful cousins, nephews and nieces. Funeral services took place Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home with Matt Brown officiating. Burial followed at the Warfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
