Helen (Bowen) Harless
1953—2025

Helen (Bowen) Harless, age 71, of Louisa, passed away Oct. 13, 2025.

Born Nov. 20, 1953, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Merle (Johnson) Bowen.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Harless Sr.; son, Danny Kay Harless; two grandsons, Justin Harless and Chucky Maynard; and several sisters.

Helen is survived by two sons, Clarence Harless Jr. of Louisa and Charles (Bridget) Maynard of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Melissa (Joshua) Welch of Louisa; and one sister, Shirley Mounts of Fort Gay, West Virginia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kim Harless, Brandon Harless, Jeffrey Maynard, Brittany DeWolf, Kalani Maynard, Shaunntae Thompson and Joseph Welch, and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services took place Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at the New Friendship United Baptist Church with John Goble and David Marcum officiating. Burial followed at the George Harless Cemetery in Debord. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
