INEZ — A Martin County man and woman are behind bars after deputies discovered a stash of suspected fentanyl/ carfentanil and methamphetamine in their Inez home early Thursday.
Martin County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Bandmill Road around 2:30 a.m., acting on a complaint of illegal drug trafficking. Inside they seized more than 400 grams of suspected fentanyl/carfentanil and methamphetamine. They also found pills, digital scales, plastic baggies, electronic devices and cash.

The suspects, 41-year-old Clarence Shane Pauley and 63-year-old Judy Faye Pauley, both face charges of aggravated trafficking in controlled substances (over 10 grams of carfentanil/fentanyl derivatives), first-degree trafficking in controlled substances (over 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking in controlled substances (less than 10 dosage units of opiates), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Pauleys are in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on $25,000 bonds each.
