Curtis Lewis Young
1960—2025

Curtis Lewis Young, age 65, of Beauty, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 15, 1960, in Franklin, Ohio, to the late Curtis Young and Flora Castle.

In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Richardson, and six sisters, Carol Baldwin, Brenda Horn, Sharon Ann Young, Roxanne Hammond, Donna Young and Evelyn Ayers.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mae Chapman Young, one daughter, Whitney (Walter) Harless III, and bonus daughters, Kaylee Stanley and Donna Adkins. A host of nieces and nephews also survives him.

Curtis was a member and decan of the Gospel Light Church for many years. He was a loving father, husband and uncle and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, at the Gospel Light Church in Beauty. Rodney Brown, Bill Messer, Stewart Martin and Bill Davis officiated. Burial followed at the Perry-Damron Cemetery on Poplar Fork Road. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
