Russell Smith
1934—2025

Russell Smith, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 20, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ida (Jude) Smith, and his daughter, Brenda Gayle Smith.

He is survived by his children, Sharon, Hazel and Craig Smith, all of Inez; his brother, James Smith; and his sister-in-law, Ruth (Jack) Lowe. He is also survived by Ronnie Lowe, Christine (Fields) Jude and Lowell Wilson, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Russell is preceded by his brothers, Ersel, Emzy, George, William and Henry Smith, and his sisters Thelma (Smith) Stepp, Elma (Smith) Preece, Mary (Smith) Recand and Helen (Smith) Fields.

Russell was a faithful member of Big Elk United Baptist Church for 15 years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, at the Crum Funeral Home Chapel in Inez, with Brent Haney and George Jude officiating. Burial followed at the Jude Fletcher Cemetery.
