INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Claudetta Mills, 40, of Tomahawk, was arrested Monday on Tomahawk Road for public intoxication of controlled substances (excludes alcohol).
Deputy Jameson Wall responded to a report that Mills was intoxicated and destroying the bathroom at a residence on Tomahawk Road.
When the deputy arrived, Mills was in a back bedroom but came to the front porch to speak with him. She allegedly admitted to using a drug the night before but did not specify which one, according to Wall’s report.
The homeowner told police, “This is how she acts when she is on that meth,” adding that Mills’ behavior scared her.

Victoria Maynard, 55, of Inez, was arrested Sunday at Horn’s BP on Milo on a charge of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).
Deputy Steven Putman responded to a call about Maynard walking in the middle of the road with a young child and talking “out of her mind.”
According to the deputy’s report, Maynard appeared incoherent. She allegedly claimed she used methamphetamine earlier that day and was still high.
“She stated people on the hill were flying over her to kill her,” Putman wrote.

Thornton Goble, 62, of Louisa, was arrested Saturday on Buffalo Horn Road in Inez for driving on a DUI-suspended license, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and failure to produce an insurance card.
Deputy Wall responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on Old Route 3 and located a 2006 Toyota Sienna matching the dispatch description. According to the deputy, Goble was unable to maintain his lane and nearly ran off the road while turning onto Buffalo Horn Road.
Wall conducted a traffic stop and immediately observed an open beer container in the cup holder and several empty cans on the floorboard. When Goble opened the door, he revealed multiple empty Fireball whiskey bottles in the door pocket.
Goble allegedly said he had consumed alcohol an “hour or two” earlier.
Wall performed a field sobriety test and took Goble into custody.

Clayton Jude, 51, of Pilgrim, was arrested Friday outside Family Dollar in Warfield for public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and indecent exposure, first degree.
Sheriff Kirk found Jude leaning against the wall of the Family Dollar, passing out, with his pants and underwear below his knees exposing his genitals. According to the sheriff, Jude was fondling his genitals while several residents were present in the parking lot.
“He was manifestly under the influence of meth and suboxone, according to him,” Sheriff Kirk noted.

James McCoy, 54, of Pilgrim, went to jail Friday for contempt of court.

Brian Shane Jude, 49, of Lovely, was arrested Friday for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) causing minor injury and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Deputy Wall responded to a residence on Walnut Drive/Riverfront Road in Lovely around 8:12 p.m., where Jude allegedly assaulted a female and a male juvenile before fleeing. The female stated that a verbal altercation turned physical.
Police noted that she had scratches on her arm and bruises on both arms and around her neck. The male juvenile had a scratch on his leg from his attempt to defend the female, the police report said.
Officers located Jude down the street about two hours later. They said he smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking earlier.

Lonnie Pauley, 62, and Bertha Jude, 45, residents of Inez, were arrested July 30 on charges of third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.

Deputy Putman responded to a call about a burglary in progress on Old Route 3 in Inez. Resident Chris Sesco told law enforcement that he was walking with his young son when he discovered Pauley and Jude inside his grandparents’ house. Sesco said the two took items from the home and he could not stop them because he was carrying his 2-year-old child.
When officers located the suspects around 9 p.m., both allegedly admitted to entering the house and taking property.
“They both stated that two random boys gave them permission to go inside and get what they wanted,” Putman wrote in his report.

Henry Lee Birchfield, 60, of Inez, was arrested July 29 on Arlen Lane in Inez on an indictment warrant charging him with vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs/substances in Boyd County.
Constable Bradford Preece took Birchfield into custody at 11:41 p.m. after Birchfield turned himself in.
