Janice Leah (Marcum) May
1951—2025

Janice Leah (Marcum) May, 73, of Prichard, West Virginia, formerly of Kermit, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington.

She was born Sept. 10, 1951, to the late Walter Marcum and Myrtle Louise Burke.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Carol Blackwell, brother Greg Marcum and sister-in-law Betty Marcum.

Janice was a caregiver for children. She loved taking care of children.

She was a member of Kermit Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Frennie May (Jay), daughters Leah Michelle (Rodney) Bragg of Prichard, Erica Nicole (Steve) Goins of Chase, Florida, Elizabeth (Mike) Burns of Huntington; five grandchildren; brother Walter Marcum of Naugatuck; sisters Patty Bullock of Prichard, Thelma (Don) Booth of Lovely, Phyllis (Jack) Lovins of Kermit; two special people, Jay Eastham and Richard Copley; and a host of friends and family.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Kermit Freewill Baptist Church. Bo Scott officiated. At her request she was cremated following the services.
