INEZ — Martin County High School boys basketball team continued summer games last week. The Cards played in round-robin games in Ashland and went 4-2 in a six-game stretch.

The Cardinals were scheduled to play at Shelby Valley, but Valley had to cancel for unknown reasons.

The team was also scheduled to attend the Marshall basketball camp this past weekend.

Coach Jason “JJ” James is pleased with his team and players that will suit up for Martin County this season.

James also looks forward to some outstanding middle schoolers in Aiden Copeland, Bryson Dials and Chase Hinkle, who are currently playing on an AAU circuit with the OnPoint Ballers. Their OPB team came back to win a tournament last week after losing the first two games, with Dials and Copeland hailed as two of the top middle school players in the region.
