
Carol (Spaulding) Moore
1945—2025
Carol (Spaulding) Moore, 79, of Stone Coal, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2025.
She was born Oct. 24, 1945, to the late John Spaulding and Ida Damron-Spaulding.
Known affectionately as “Granny Carol” by many beyond her own family, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Jimmy Moore and her brothers, Flem (Joy) Spaulding and Curtis (Pearlie) (Geraldine) Spaulding.
Carol is survived by her children, Ricky Moore (Debbie), Sharri Messer (Arvel), Teresa Maynard (Glen) and Jimmy Moore Jr. (Connie). Her grandchildren include James Messer (Amanda), Ricky Moore Jr. (Megan), Shane Maynard (Sarah), Josh Messer (Lea-Ann), and Derrick Moore (Brittany). Great-grandchildren include Kaylee, Logan, Elijah, Bailee, Brantley, Noelle, Samuel, Breanna Belle, Nicholas, Oliver and Lucas. She is also survived by her siblings James Marion (Evelyn) Spaulding, Walter (Diana) Spaulding, Carlos (Kathy) Spaulding, Ilene (Paul) Alley and John (Judy) Spaulding Jr.
A woman of profound kindness and unwavering faith, Carol was a devoted member of Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Billy Messer and Bobby Alley officiating. Burial followed at the Damron Cemetery in Stone Coal. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
