Martin County Cal Ripken League tournament

INEZ — Martin County Cal Ripken wrapped up their 2025 season with the Thunderstix (Coach Pitch), Phillies (Little League), and Angels (Softball) being crowned as champions.

Angels vs Diamond Divas – The Angels are 3-peat champs after defeating the Divas 12-2 in the championship game last week. The Divas had forced a game two in the double-elimination tournament.

Alicemae Gilkey and Kiley Wright both scored three runs for the winning team. Harper Howell made her way into home for two scores. Macie Callaham, Krista Hunt, Paislee Lafferty, and Avery Kirk all rounded the bases for the Angels.

Hope Dials and Paisley Mooney scored a run each for the Diamond Divas.

Phillies vs Marlins – The Phillies won in walk-off fashion for the second time in the tournament to capture the championship with a 4-3 win.

The squad took down the Marlins in the double-elimination tournament 13-1 to force a second game.

With the Phillies down 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Kash Howell slammed a bomb to center with ice in his veins to drive in two runs for the victory.

Gunner Broaddus had a hit for the Phillies and scored two runs. He struck out 13 batters from the mound.

Axel Jude made his way into home plate. Jonah Mills racked up a hit and an RBI. Bash Stacy touched home plate for a score.

Rocco Maynard had a hit and scored for the Marlins. Lyric Howell made his way home. Brock Fields collected a hit and rounded the bases. Bentlee Copley had a hit and drove in two runners.

Thunderstix vs. Tigers – With the Thunderstix up 9-0 on the Tigers in the fourth inning, Waylon Porter ran his way into home for his team to capture the Coach Pitch title.
