INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:

Jeffery Preece, 46, of Warfield, was arrested Friday in Warfield on public intoxication controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy Braxton McGinnis says he was driving through Warfield and a Frontier worker flagged him down, telling him that a man was behind the Warfield Church of God and appeared “messed up.” According to Lafferty, Preece advised that he had taken Neurontin and pain pills the previous night and walked from Dempsey hours after.

Andrea Perry, 44, of Louisa, was arrested June 6 at Zip Zone in Inez on first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia buy/possession, license to be in possession, no registration plates, no registration receipt, registration and title requirements vehicle not operated on highway, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, and speeding 25 mph over limit. Deputy Tyler Lafferty reported that while on patrol, he observed Perry pulling out from a residence that had been the subject of numerous complaints of drug selling.

“When the subject noticed me, she took off at a high rate of speed,” Lafferty stated. “I paced her going 70 in a 45 mph zone.”

Lafferty conducted a traffic stop and asked why Perry was going so fast.

“She stated she wasn’t feeling well,” said Lafferty.

The deputy asked Perry to step out of the car.

“At that time, Deputy Billy Patrick noticed a small bag with a crystal-like substance inside of it located in her purse,” stated Lafferty.

Deputies searched Perry’s vehicle and seized digital scales, a glass pipe, a small rock of what appeared to be meth in a small baggie and a pink-like substance that appeared to be heroin in a small baggie.

John T. Dabe, 23, of Delaware, Ohio, was arrested on a bench warrant June 7 on Old Middle Fork in Inez. Lafferty made the arrest.

Kobe Davis, 27, of Kermit, W.Va., was arrested on a bench warrant June 7 in Inez.
