Bringing back spirit of 1930s supper club

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — The Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce and Minor Swing are bringing back the spirit of the 1930s supper club July 30 in the Grand Ballroom of the Historic Mountaineer Hotel.

Supper Club Concert Night featuring Minor Swing takes us back to Saturday nights spent at supper cubs enjoying dinner and live music with friends.

From Charleston, W.Va., Minor Swing takes the style of Gypsy Jazz, created and made popular in the 1930s by French Romani guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephan Grappelli, and performs it for all to experience and enjoy.

Dinner will be served during the event.

Enjoy a cash coffee and wine bar on the mezzanine 6-7 p.m.

The ballroom opens for seating at 6:45, dinner service begins at 7 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:15 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for general admission and $225 for a table of eight. The ticket includes dinner and must be purchased by 2 p.m. July 26. Tickets are available at the TVCC, the Coal House and tugvalleychamber.com.
