INEZ — Head coach Robin Newsome has camps and games lined up for the Martin County High School girls basketball team in June.
“We lost one senior this year [Candace Spaulding]. She provided so much for our team, especially defensively. But we return some key players and I expect a big season for us,” Coach Newsome said.
With starters Maci Maynard, Brooke Marcum, Chloe May, and Sophie Harless back in the line-up, the Lady Cards are looking to repeat as the All ‘A’ champions.
After hosting the Ken’s Camp of Champs, the Lady Cards will travel to Vanderbilt June 6-8 for a team camp to kick off the summer months.
The squad will take the short trip to Marshall University on June 10 and 11.
Transylvania University team camp is on the schedule for Martin County for June 16-18.
Coach Newsome will participate in the Raceland High School Aries League sometime this month.
