INEZ — Martin County baseball secured a 3-0 win over East Ridge on May 13 before falling to Belfry and Perry County Central the following two nights. The Cards moved to 10-15 overall and 7-11 in the 15th Region.
MC vs East Ridge – Senior Ryan Stephens allowed no runs and sent four batters to the dugout in a 3-0 win in Inez.

He tossed 59 pitches and earned the win on the mound. Stephens racked up a hit at-bat.
Eighth-grader Blake Lemaster went 2-3 at the plate and scored a run for the Cards after stealing a base.
Aidan Mann had an outstanding performance at first base and went 1-1 in the batter’s box. He tacked on a score for Martin County after crossing home.
Alice Lloyd College signee Damian Cheek knocked out a hit and drove in two Cardinals.
Eli Mills scored the third and final run to secure the win for the home team.
MC vs Betsy Layne – Martin County couldn’t muster up enough runs against the Bobcats on May 14 in Inez and were defeated 9-1.
Damian Cheek was a perfect 2-2 at the plate. He had one RBI and stole a base for the Cards.
Eli Mills went 2-3 in the box and stole a base in the loss.
Blake Lemaster registered a double and was the lone score for the red and white.
Aidan Mann rang out a hit and was a deviant on the mound. The ace pitcher allowed no runs and hit the century mark on pitches thrown. Mann hurled six strikeouts in five innings.
Knox Maynard tossed two innings on 42 pitches. He struck out a batter and walked only one.

MC vs PCC – The Cards lost a heartbreaker in their final regular season game with a 4-3 score on May 15.
Hunter Moore led the way batting 2-2 and drawing a free base.
Damian Cheek and Crayson Lafferty each recorded a hit and touched home for a score.
Outfielder Eli Mills rang out a hit and drove a Cardinal home.
Future ALC eagle Ryan Stephens blasted a hit, rounded the bases for a score, and had an RBI.
Chase Stacy took to the mound for all seven innings. He tossed 83 pitches with a 2.00 ERA and struck out two Commodores.

Dylan Hale and Blake Lemaster both rocked a hit for Martin County.
Martin County was scheduled to play Johnson Central Monday night in the 57th District Tournament. Details were not available at the press deadline.
