Lady Cards edged by Fairview 8-7

FAIRVIEW — Fairview edged Martin County Lady Cards 8-7 in a closely contested game May 6.

Lady Cardinals Sophie Harless and Zoie Hinkle each tallied a hit and scored two runs. Hinkle blasted a double and drew three walks. She also stole a base.

Alyssa Mullins contributed a hit for the Cardinals.

Coming in at home for a score was Marlee Grayson as a pinch runner.

The speedy Bella Muncy snuck in two bases on Fairview.

Mia Fields had an RBI on the evening.

Haley Robinson and Kaylee Endicott both touched home for a Cardinal score.

On the pitching side for Martin County, Alyssa Mullins pitched over six innings, allowing 10 hits and eight runs, five of which were earned. She struck out six and walked none.

The Lady Cards dropped two district matchups against Johnson Central and a 22-12 decision to Magoffin.

Details were not available.

The red and white will travel to East Ridge on Wednesday (May 14) before returning home for their final regular season game against Floyd Central on Friday.

Martin County was scheduled for senior night Tuesday (May 13). Details were not available at press time.
