PRESTONSBURG — Big Sandy Community & Technical College celebrated as students signed job offers with local employers during the annual Going Pro Day.
The career-signing event recognizes students entering the workforce directly after graduation.
The event highlighted the college’s strong partnerships with regional industries and the outstanding achievements of its graduates.
From healthcare and technology to manufacturing and skilled trades, Going Pro Day celebrated career readiness, regional collaboration and the impact of workforce development in Eastern Kentucky.
“Going Pro presents a unique opportunity to spotlight both our students and our employment partners,” Dr. Todd Brand, Interim President and CEO of BSCTC, said. “The event is similar to an athlete signing with a college or university to play a sport. However, in this case, the stakes are higher. Our students signing to work with employers in our region ensures a bright economic future for Southeastern Kentucky, and that is something to be excited about.”
Like athletic signing days, students were honored by peers, faculty, family and employers as they committed to starting careers in their respective trades and fields.
