INEZ — Ryan Smith, a wrestler at Martin County High School, signed May 2 at MCHS to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Pikeville, where he plans to obtain a teaching degree and return to Martin County in the future as an educator.

He is the son of Ryan and Billeena Smith of Crum, West Virginia and has been a member of Martin County sports for numerous years.

Smith finished his high school wrestling career with a winning record and received a scholarship to continue his journey with the UPIKE Bears.

The multi-sport athlete also played football for three years.
