INEZ — Martin County High School baseball split games with a win over Magoffin 5-2 on April 21 before losing to the Hornets 13-7 the following night and Lawrence County 16-1 on April 23.
Below is a recap of last week’s action:
MC vs Magoffin County – The Cardinals rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take down the Hornets.
Blake Lemaster batted 2-3 on the night and stole a base for Martin County
Damian Cheek, Aidan Mann, and Eli Mills each delivered a hit and crossed home plate for a score.

Ryan Stephens was 1-2 in the batter’s box. Aiden Horn rang out a hit for Martin County and made his way home.
Cheek and Horn each drove in a teammate for an RBI.
Dylan Spence entered the game as a pinch runner and scored for the Cards.
Knox Maynard picked up the win on the mound striking out six Hornets. He allowed only four hits and walked three in all seven innings.
MC vs Magoffin County – In a game that saw Martin out-hit Magoffin 10-9, it was not enough as the Cards were defeated by the Hornets 13-7.

Damian Cheek had a slugfest of 4-5 at the plate. The senior captain stepped on home three times. He collected a double and drove in a Cardinal run.
Ryan Stephens went 2-3 in the box. The Card was responsible for two runs batting in a teammate and crossing home himself.
Hunter Moore and Dylan Hale each slugged a hit and batted in a Cardinal baserunner.
Martin County hitter Aiden Horn had a single and made his way home twice.
Blake Lemaster belted out a hit and scored for Martin County.
Eli Mills and Crayson Lafferty each recorded an RBI.

Martin County placed four pitchers on the mound. Hale tossed over three innings, striking out four and allowing two hits.
MC vs Lawrence County – The Cards could not get the bats swinging and fell to the Bulldogs.
Dylan Hale had the lone hit for Martin County and scored the only run. He and Dylan Spence stole two bases each for the Cardinals.
Ryan Stephens struck out two batters from the mound.
Martin County will travel to Johnson Central tonight before hosting the Eagles tomorrow.
The squad is scheduled for a May 5 home game with Belfry and will travel to Jenkins on May 6.
The Cards were scheduled to play Perry County Central on Tuesday (April 29). Details were not available at the press deadline.
