Watts and Davis receive all-region honors

PAINTSVILLE — Martin County High School basketball studs Peyton Davis and Parker Watts received all-region honors at a ceremony at Johnson Central High School last week.

The top 16 players out of the 15th Region were voted on by the coaches association.

Watts finished the season as the region’s third-leading scorer and seventh in the state at 27.5 points per contest. He knocked down 63 treys for Martin County as a senior transfer and shot 47.2% from the field. He led the squad in rebounds averaging 7.6 per contest.

Davis finished the season ranked fifth in the region from behind the arc. During his senior campaign he led the Cardinals from long-range connecting on 89 shots at a blistering 48.9% average. He was good for 17 points and 4.5 rebounds per game shooting 56.6% overall from the field.

Both Cardinals will be continuing their basketball careers at Kentucky Christian University.
