Roger Dale Williamson
1956—2025
Roger Dale Williamson, age 68, of Crum, West Virginia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
He was born Dec. 15, 1956, in Williamson to Cullie Williamson and Minerva Ratcliff Williamson.
Roger grew up in Crum and was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, boisterous laughter and ability to sell ice to an Eskimo. He loved telling stories of how he sold cars to Shaquille Oneal, Bat Dad and famous golfers. He always had a story to tell and if you start to miss him, pull up Rogers’ stories from the holler on YouTube.
Roger served in the army as a tank commander after high school in both Germany and Texas. He spent the majority of his career in sales and retired from the car business.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Ada, with whom he loved sharing his life and who brought him so much happiness and joy. They enjoyed taking trips and going to church together. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He talked about them all the time and had to show pictures to everyone: Misty Sunshine Drubert and husband (Chris Drubert), granddaughters Macie Martinez and Penelope (PIP) and his great-grandson, Bodhi; Ashley (husband Erik) Perrine and grandchildren Dusty and Jonathan (JT); his son Alex Williamson and wife Amber and his farm of 37 animals. He received a bonus family when he married Ada: Her daughters, Rebecca (Phillip) Wallace, Rachel Johnson and Glenna and Chris Stepp and bonus grandchildren Brandi Watts, James Watts, Hunter Wallace, Brooklyn Wallace, Sophie Sammons and Chloe Stepp. They have treated Roger with a great deal of love and affection. He is also survived by his brother Larry and wife Jan Williamson, sisters Geneva and husband Joseph George, Debbie May and husband John and Sherri Brewer and husband Steve. He also has a host of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Roger.
A service celebrating his life was conducted Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Silver Creek Church in Crum, where he and Ada were members. Pastor Stewart Martin officiated. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.
