Harden Hinkle

1946—2022

Harden Hinkle, 75, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at his residence in Easley, S.C.

Born Dec. 24, 1946, in Crum, W.Va., he was the son of the late Vee and Betty Hinkle but was raised in Columbus, Ohio, where he spent most of his adult life.

Harden retired from Fifth Avenue Lumber Company. He was an avid golfer, Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Hinkle; second wife, Susan Hinkle; sons Harden Hinkle Jr and Matthew Hinkle; twin daughters Angel and Angela; brothers Robert Jr., Tude, Ike and Roger; and sister Eula Mae.

He is survived by children Steve (Teresa) Hinkle, Mark (Tracy) Hinkle, Sabrina (David) Cockrell, Mark Waugh, Alan (Angel) Christie, Sheri (Robert) Anderson and Kameron (McKenzie) Hinkle; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Owen (Linda) Hinkle and Mark (Becky) Hinkle; sisters, Beatrice (Norm) Christenson and Marie (Ricky) Alley; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The funeral service was Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Kermit, W.Va., with Pastor Kenneth Allen officiating. Burial was at the Anderson Cemetery in Crum, W.Va.
