Virgil Perry

1948—2022

Virgil Perry, 73, of Kermit, W.Va., departed this life Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Tug Valley ARH in South Williamson.

Born March 28, 1948, in Kermit, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lark and Delcie (Hodge) Perry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Hanna Mae Marcum and Rosa Lee Clay.

Virgil was a retired coal miner who enjoyed spending time with loved ones, along with hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was known for his love of old cars.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Helen Williamson Perry; two children, Virgil (Karen) Perry of Kermit and Virginia Perry of Wayne; four grandchildren, Keyton (Alexis) Lowe of Omar, Kenton (Morgan) Lowe of Breeden, Charity (Winnie) Newsome of Holden, and Ethan Perry of Kermit; five great-grandchildren, Easton, Keytlee, Dawson, Kinzlee and Ellie. Virgil is also survived by three sisters, Sally Primmer, Imojean Messer, Earnestine Lackey; one brother, Daniel (Maxine) Perry; two brothers-in-law, Billy Williamson and James Williamson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Virgil had many friends, including a special friend, Dallas Messer.

The funeral was Monday, March 14, 2022, at Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield, with Freddy Messer Jr. officiating. Burial as at the Lark Perry Cemetery on Jennies Creek.
