Joe Vance Jr., 81, of Kermit, West Virginia, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2025.

He was born Sept. 2, 1943, to the late Joe and Emma (Meade) Vance.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Thelma June Vance, daughter Lorie Spaulding, grandson Sam Spaulding, and three brothers and two sisters.

Joe is survived by daughter Margaret Ann (Wally) Blanton of Owingsville, Kentucky; sons Joe Vance of Roanoke, Virginia, Steven (Rayna) Vance of Kermit, West Virginia; son-in-law Don Spaulding of Kermit, West Virginia; stepdaughter Lisa (Jay) Wooddell; stepson Paul (Hannah) McKelvy; sisters Alice Messer and Minnie Fitchpatrick; brothers Tony and Earl Vance; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special caretaker Geneva McKinney; and special friends Jimmy and Roger Williams.

Services were conducted Feb. 24, 2025, at Neely Branch Church on Marrowbone, with Josh Vance officiating. Burial followed at the May Cemetery. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
