INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:
Cody Castle, 21, of Paintsville, was arrested Monday in Lovely on a warrant out of Lawrence County. Sheriff Kirk made the arrest.
Charles Franklin Stacy, 57, and Jacquie Osborne, 39, both of Inez, were arrested Saturday in Inez on assault, fourth degree (domestic violence) minor injury. Deputy Tyler Lafferty received a call about an altercation in progress and found Stacy had left the residence in his car and wrecked about a half-mile up the road. Lafferty says Stacy then fled on foot up the side of the hill. When Lafferty detained Stacy, Stacy stated Osborne had started the fight. The deputy reported Stacy had scratches all over his upper body and face. Osborne said Stacy tried to choke her and smother her with his hands. She had redness around her neck and on her face. Both were taken into custody.
Clayton Jude, 48, of Warfield, was arrested Thursday at Cline Bottom in Inez on public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Deputy Braxton McGinnis reported that he observed Jude staggering on the four-lane on Route 3. McGinnis said Jude was “smacking at things out of the air that he believed was in front of him” and talking to himself with slurred speech.
Charles Spillman, 58, of Louisa, was arrested Thursday in the Martin County Sheriff’s office on an indictment warrant. McGinnis made the arrest.
Marie Shell, 32, of Inez, was arrested May 25 on Spence Branch, Inez, on assault, fourth degree (domestic violence) minor injury. Lafferty responded to a call about a physical altercation in progress. The deputy says that upon his arrival, the victim had left the scene and walked to the top of the driveway, and he found Shell in the back bedroom. Lafferty says the victim stated Shell had been drinking and came home very upset. The victim said Shell walked over to him, headbutted him, and began to hit and scratch him, leaving scratch marks on his chest, ribs and under his right arm. The deputy says there was also a red mark on the victim’s head where Shell had headbutted him. Shell stated she blacked out and could not remember what had happened.
Brandy Muncy, 38, of Lovely, was arrested May 25 in Beauty on two indictment warrants. Lafferty made the arrest.
Homer Evans, 65, of Lovely, was arrested May 25 in Lovely on an indictment warrant and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and prescription drug not in the proper container. Lafferty and McGinnis made the arrest.
Megan Neidlinger, 26, of Tomahawk, was arrested May 25 in Tomahawk on a bench warrant. McGinnis made the arrest.
John Preston, 41, of Warfield, was arrested May 24 on Halls Branch, Inez, on possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Lafferty responded to a call about Preston walking around people’s houses. The deputy says that upon arrival, he asked Preston if he had anything on him, and Preston stated he had “a little meth on him.” Lafferty located the meth in Preston’s left front pocket.
