INEZ — Amanda Branham Fields, principal of Inez Elementary School will serve a three-year term on the Commissioner’s Principal Advisory Council (PrAC) for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE).
The PrAC provides the Commissioner of Education with direct input from school leaders across the state. Its mission is to ensure high-quality teaching and learning in every classroom across the state.
Fields will join approximately 17 active principals on the council. Members bring diverse perspectives, addressing key challenges and helping influence policy decisions. Membership represents various grade levels, district sizes, and regional areas to ensure broad representation.
The council meets quarterly, with members required to attend at least three meetings annually to maintain active status. The Office of Educational Licensure and Effectiveness oversees the application and selection process, appointing principals to three-year terms.
Additionally, one principal from the Kentucky School for the Blind and one from the Kentucky School for the Deaf may serve consecutive terms.
Fields’ appointment reflects her strong leadership and dedication to student success. Under her guidance, Inez Elementary remains committed to academic excellence and student achievement.
The next PrAC meeting on the schedule is March 4.
