Gustie Marie Perry Stroud
1955—2025

Gustie Marie Perry Stroud, 69, of Breeden, West Virginia, passed away Jan. 25, 2025.

Born Feb. 18, 1955, in Kermit, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lydia Messer and General Perry.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jessie Stroud, daughter-in-law Sherry Stroud, sisters Lottie Perry, Lucy Williams, Francis Sturgill, Belle Kirk and Eunice Runyon and brothers General Perry, Jesse Perry and Andrew Perry.

She leaves behind her children Daniel Stroud and Becky (Scottie) Akers; grandchildren Katie Akers (Caleb Stidham) and Kameron (Kamo) Akers; great-grandchildren Liam Stidham (Peanut), Kaison Stidham and Saundra (James)Ward, whom she loved as her own; sisters Elizabeth (Keither Newsome) Perry, Myrtle and Jess Waller, Tennessee (Dennis) Dillon, Cathy Perry; brothers Albert Perry, Jennings and Barb Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Gustie enjoyed spending time with all her family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed making quilts, going fishing and taking trips to the cabin up north.

The funeral will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Turkey Creek Church in Wilsondale, West Virginia, with Manuel Ferguson and George Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the Jessie Stroud Cemetery.
