Henry (Hank) Czyzewski

1948—2022

Henry (Hank) Czyzewski, 73, of West Chicago, passed away suddenly Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021.

He was born Jan. 9, 1948, son of the late Henry P and Lucille (Wojcik)Czyzewski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Suzanne and Theresa, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Beatrice Baisden, brothers-in-law, Hershall, Phillip, Dan, Donald, Wesley and Toby, and sisters-in-law, Rose, Naomi, Donnetta and Karen.

Hank was a Vietnam veteran. He retired after 38 years from the United States Post Office, then drove a bus for 12 years and was known for his hearty laugh. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved going to his cabin in Wisconsin and loved to fish.

Beloved husband for 49 years to Elma Lou (Baisden) Czyzewski, brother of Gregory (Diane), John (Rose), Carol and Pat. He was a brother-in-law of Tilda (Arthur), Thelma, Carles, Curtiss (Henny), Kennith, Eliza (Gid), Joann (Terry) Edna, Gail (Harry), Jim (Cindy), Emmette, Thomas, as well as being an uncle to many nieces and nephews, especially Nicole Tennant, whom he helped raise from youth. He was a proud master of Roxi, Katie, Dink, Link and Mesa.

The memorial service was March 12, 2022, at Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. James Ed Baisden officiating. Burial was at the May and Baisden Cemetery on Marrowbone. Obituary courtesy of Mullins Family Funeral Home, Warfield.
