Harvey Maynard
1940—2025

Harvey Maynard, age 84, of Inez, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at ARH Prestonsburg.

Born April 20, 1940 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Martin (Marty) Maynard and Hessie Bowen Maynard.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death was his wife Lorene Maynard as well as sisters Rose Fannin, Mary Fitch, Virginia Fitch and Nary Maynard.

Harvey devoted his life to serving the Lord and was a longtime member of New Friendship Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, working on old classic trucks, going to the flea markets (finding those hidden treasures) and making many new acquaintances along the way.

Harvey is survived by his children, Dana (Michael) Copley of Inez, Donna Mills of Lexington, and James (Betsy) Maynard of Marysville Ohio; two grandboys (whom he thought the world of) Kyle Mills (Brad) of Louisville and Brett (JR) Maynard of Lexington. He was blessed to be called GG Paw by Lil Bubby (Easton) and Lil Sissy (McKinley) and his “additional” daughter Melissa (Missy) Maynard. He is survived by siblings: Gertie Cox of Louisa and Julie Maynard, Joanie (Bea) (Forest) Fitch and Williard Maynard (Ruby), all of Inez.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 at the Callaham Funeral Home in Inez with John Goble officiating. Burial followed at the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Louisa.
