OLIVE HILL — A man was killed Thursday afternoon when a tree fell onto his truck as he drove along U.S. 60, according to Kentucky State Police.

The victim, identified as Daniel Stone, 38, was traveling east near Fleming Fork when a tree struck his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, authorities said. The impact ejected Stone from the vehicle.

Stone, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carter County coroner.

The accident occurred around 1:14 p.m., police said.
