Melissa Amanda Mills
1977—2022
Melissa Amanda Mills, 45, passed away May 15, 2022.
Born Feb. 23, 1977, in Paintsville, she was the daughter of Wayne Allen Stroud and Betty Charlene Cline.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her partner Daniel Ratliff; four children, Candenna (Robert Whitt), Bradley Mills, Courtney Mills and Blake Stroud; siblings Rhonda (Randy)Spence, Angela (Twain) Meek, Rebecca (Terry) Caudill, Anthony (Angie) Stroud, Brandi (Andy) Stroud, Jessica (Frankie) Fitch and Brandi King. She had six grandchildren who she loved more than life, Emilee Whitt, Madeline Whitt, Olivia Whitt, Robert Whitt, McKinley Mills and Jayden Mills.
She always had a fighter’s soul. She always tried her best to become a better human being and never gave up, no matter how dire the circumstances. She was a survivor, through and through.
“We will always dearly miss her as she impacted each and every one of our lives greatly. None of us would be able to be the people we are today if not for her life impacting us the way she did. We are all truly grateful for each and every second we got to spend with you. Your ray of light will forever shine upon us, Mom. We love you and we miss you.”
Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Callaham Funeral Home, with Lonnie Ratliff officiating. Burial was at the Bowen Cemetery in Tomahawk, under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
