The Lady Panthers of Tug Valley went 2-1 last week with wins over Huntington St. Joe and Tolisa and a loss to Prestonsburg in a close contest. Below is a recap of the action.
Tug Valley 55, St. Joe 37
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Tug Valley improved to 2-0 on the young season with a good road victory over Huntington St. Joe 55-37 on Dec. 10 at the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington.
Kenzie Browning banked in 17 and Haven Deskins helped with scoring 15 points, while Kylie DeBoard added 11, Bailee Hall six and Katie Hall five for TVHS.
Coach Seth Ooten’s team led 31-16 at the half and outscored the Irish 24-20 in the second half to pull away with the win.
K. Hall led the Lady Panthers with 10 rebounds, while DeBoard, B. Hall and Browning each pulled down five boards.
Ava Ballion led St. Joe with 13 points.

Tug Valley 59, Tolsia 35
GLEN HAYES, W.Va. — The Lady Panthers of Tug Valley improved to 3-0 on the season with a 59-35 road win over their regional rival the Lady Rebels of Tolsia on Thursday.
Sophomore forward Bailee Hall had a double-double with 17 points and 19 rebounds for Coach Seth Ooten. Senior guard Kenzie Browning also fired in 19 points. Haven Deskins added 12 points, Kylie DeBoard chipped in 10, while Katie Hall scored one free throw.
Emily Artrip and Piper Pack each scored 7 points to lead Tolsia.

Prestonsburg 73, Tug Valley 67
ELKHORN CITY, Ky. — The Tug Valley Lady Panthers lost their first game of the season falling to Prestonsburg 73-67 in the East Ridge Mountain Showcase played at East Ridge High School on Saturday, Dec. 15.
Kylie DeBoard led Tug Valley, now 3-1 on the season, with 19 points, while Haven Deskins added 15 and Katie Hall 11. Katie Richardson and Kenzie Browning both scored eight, while Bailee Hall chipped in six points. Bailee Hall had 16 rebounds, while Katie Hall hauled down seven boards. Deskins fired in four 3-pointers for Coach Seth Ooten’s squad.
DeBoard had five steals for TV, while Browning dished out five assists.
