Arrest Report

INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office reported the following arrests:

Cory Ferrell, 45, of Sumerco, W.Va., was arrested Tuesday on an indictment warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified). Deputy Billy Patrick made the arrest.

Robert Meade Jr., 70, of Inez, was arrested Monday in Inez on terroristic threatening and operating on a suspended or revoked license. Deputy Tyler Lafferty reports Meade was accused of threatening to bring a gun to a local medical clinic if he did not receive his medication. Lafferty arrested Meade at the mouth of Coldwater, where he found a 9mm gun inside Meade’s vehicle.

Charles Crum, 23, of Inez, was arrested Sunday on Fitch Branch on public intoxication of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia buy/possession. Deputy Braxton McGinnis responded to a call about an intoxicated man on a bicycle on Milo. The deputy says he located Crum passed out on a porch on Fitch Branch with needles and unmarked pills in his pockets.

Lori Chapman, 44, of Inez, was arrested Saturday in Inez on public intoxication of a controlled substance. Deputy Felix Lafferty reports that he saw Chapman staggering on the side of the road and gave her a field sobriety test.

Calvin Fletcher, 63, of Beauty, was arrested May 17 in Beauty on assault, fourth degree, (domestic violence) minor injury. Lafferty says he received a call about an altercation and, upon arrival at the scene, saw Fletcher smack his wife in the face.

Darren Estep, 42, of Keaton, was arrested May 17 in Inez on a bench warrant out of Johnson County. Lafferty made the arrest.

Thomas Robert Thacker, 27, of Inez, was arrested May 17 in Inez on a warrant charging him with criminal mischief. McGinnis made the arrest.

April Nicole Hickman, 35, of Inez, was arrested May 16 in Inez on a bench warrant from Martin District Court. Deputy Lauren O’Bryan made the arrest.

Editor’s note: All charges are merely accusations and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
